Football Training Pass Skills Through Hunt The Rabbit Games

Minutes: 15 (or 10 points, whichever comes first)
Players: Unlimited (3 teams of equal size)
Objectives: To develop passing skills; to improve general endurance.
Setup: Use markers to outline a playing area 30 by 40 yards. Station three teams in the playing area. Use colored scrimmage vests to differentiate teams. Designate one player on each team as the "rabbit/' who wears a distinctive shirt or hat. Each team has two soccer balls; six balls are in play at all times.
Procedure: The objective is to contact an opposing team's "rabbit" below the knees with a passed ball. Players move the ball into position to contact a rabbit through combination passing with teammates. Rabbits are free to move anywhere within the field area to avoid getting hit with a ball.
Scoring: A pass that contacts a rabbit below the knees scores 1 point for the team. Each team keeps total of its points scored. The first team to total 10 points (or the team with the highest number of points after 15 minutes) wins.
Practice tips: Reduce the area size for younger, less skilled players.
